Cin Ali – a stick figure cartoon character used to teach reading in Turkey from 1970 to 2000 help of a set of ten books, created by primary school teacher Rasim Kaygusuz in the late 1960s.

it was difficult to find a playground reference in Ankara In the 1960s. We could find in personal archives. Cin Ali museum helped us a lot in this matter.

I got all the character animations from "Adobe Mixamo". For special animations needs inverse kinematic, I used "Final IK" Unity Plugin.

I tried to establish a connection between the book and animation by placing the related pages from the book into the animation.

I selected green-red vintage color palette to reinforce the nostalgic impression.

vignette post processing is important. It both increases the nostalgic instagram effect and provides a framing in terms of composition rules. win win!

The whip spinning top is a nostalgic toy and had a special place in book three.

I created all the animations in unity3d with "Slate Realtime Cinematic Sequencer". All models are painted in Substance Painter.

Unity3D's rendering capabilities weren't enough for real-time animation in 2017. So, I've used serious amount of Post-processing. ( "Scion" for lens effects, "Colorful" for color grading, "SSAO" for ambient occlusion, "NGGS" for soft shadows )
